A Thorough Approach to Endocrine Health

I was drawn to endocrinology because it is a multi-system speciality with complex interplays between different systems. Endocrinology allows me to provide ‘whole-of-person’ care. I chose my PhD topic for similar reasons — my PhD centred on a type 2 diabetes medicine that is also useful for heart and kidney disease.

I have a strong commitment to thorough and compassionate patient care. I place emphasis on clear communication with patients and referring doctors. As a clinician who is actively involved in research, I undertake regular activities to remain informed of the many developments occurring in the fields of endocrinology, diabetes and obesity.

I work as a Senior Research Associate in the Medicines Intelligence Research Program in the School of Population Health, UNSW. My research relates to the population-level use of medicines including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. I am a strong advocate for quality use of medicines for people living with type 2 diabetes and/or overweight/obesity. I have over 20 publications (half as first author).
